Training on resource efficiency and cleaner production in Ninh Binh city

At the training course, participants were introduced to an overview of resource efficiency and cleaner production; assessment methodology on resource efficiency and cleaner production in enterprises; Surveying and evaluating raw materials, electricity, heat, chemical and waste streams, etc.
Organizing training courses to introduce concepts, benefits and methods for effective consumption of resources and cleaner production for managers of industrial parks and leaders, technical staff, production management staff of enterprises in the industrial parks, helping them to understand the practicality of resource efficiency and cleaner production in daily production; assist enterprises in using resources, energy efficiently and reducing environmental pollution; thereby contributing to the construction and development of typical ecological industrial zones of the locality.
The project "Deploying eco-industrial park initiatives toward a sustainable industrial park model in Vietnam" is implemented by the Ministry of Planning and Investment in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) funded by the Global Environment Facility and the Swiss Federal Bureau of Economic Affairs. The project has a total non-refundable aid of US $ 4,554,000 with the aim of enhancing the transfer, application and dissemination of technologies and measures for cleaner production, energy saving, management of natural resources and chemicals in industrial zones; Promote the co-use of natural resources and by-products between enterprises in the same industrial zone, from which to be converted to an industrial park.
The project will be implemented in enterprises in Khanh Phu and Gian Khau Industrial Zones for 8 months from August 2017 to March 2018 with the following activities: Training, evaluation and development of measures on resource efficiency and cleaner production at participating enterprises; implement the selected solutions for resource efficiency and cleaner production; evaluate the effectiveness of the solutions already implemented in the business.
Currently, the country has built 321 industrial zones and export processing zones with a total area of natural land of nearly 90 thousand hectares, attracting over 6,600 FDI projects and 6,200 domestic investment projects; Existing industrial zones have occupied over 71% but no industrial zones and export processing zones is considered "ecological". Recognizing the transition from existing industrial zone to eco-industrial zone, many experts say that they must first focus on building and transforming the awareness of enterprises in the industrial zones on environmental protection.
