Industrial promotion activities in the city include: training, improving the skills of small industry and handicraft for enterprises, rural labor establishments; Organizing training courses to start the enterprise, improving management capacity; Participating in displaying rural industrial products at domestic fairs. Industrial promotion activities also focus on demonstration and application of machinery and equipment, transfer of technology, application of cleaner production to rural industrial establishments.

In 2017, the Center for Industry Promotion and Industrial Development Consultancy has submitted to the Department of Finance to appraise the funding over 1.3 billion for 17 local projects. In the period 2018-2020, the center will continue to carry out vocational training for 490 employees according to the needs of industrial and small industrial establishments; organized 06 training courses on business startups to promote the development of 20 Industrial zone and craft villages; support 18 projects / projects to build technical demonstration models, technology transfer and application of advanced machinery, scientific and technical advances in industrial and small industry production; assist 20 enterprises to participate in domestic and foreign trade fairs; support detailed planning and infrastructure investment for 03 industrial clusters, support construction and upgrading environmental pollution treatment system for 16 establishments, small industry and handicraft enterprises, etc. Total budget for implementing The industrial promotion program of Can Tho city is estimated at VND 18.5 billion (in which the national industrial extension fund is VND 11.9 billion and the local industrial promotion fund is VND 6.6 billion).
