Accordingly, the two sides agreed and affirmed the great potential of cooperation between Vietnam and Israel in all fields; Each has its own advantages to complement one another; It is necessary to find ways to exploit the strengths of each side to improve the efficiency of cooperation in the fields of Foreign Affairs, Trade, Investment, Finance, Agriculture, Science and Technology, Culture and Education. At the end of this meeting, the minutes of the 2nd session of the Vietnam - Israel Intergovernmental Committee was signed.
Minister Chu Ngoc Anh said: "The two sides are happy about the results of good cooperation in recent years, reflected by the trade turnover of the two countries increased over 5 times in the period of 2010-2016; Initiate FTA negotiation, etc.”
According to the minister, because the two economies are complementary to each other, many measures to promote cooperation were discussed. Accordingly, in the coming period, Vietnam - Israel will accelerate FTA negotiations, promote exchanges, negotiate labor agreements, discuss measures to promote the financial protocol. Israel is ready to support the sharing of experience with Vietnam in building a start-up nation and a series of measures to promote cooperation in the fields of science, technology, agriculture, industry, customs and water, culture, education, justice, internal affairs, etc.
During the visit, Minister Chu Ngoc Anh also met Mr. Ofir Akunis, Minister of Science, Technology and Space of Israel - and signed the Memorandum of cooperation between two ministries to implement the program of co-financing research cooperation activities between Vietnam and Israel. In the coming time, the two sides will work closely to develop the calling and funding process for collaborative research projects, effectively implementing the memorandum.
The minister said, "During my visit to Israel, I and the Minister of Science, Technology and Space of Israel signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two countries in science and technology, as a basis for promoting cooperation between the 2 countries. The Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Fund and the Israeli Agency for Innovation (Israeli Innovation Agency) have signed a cooperation agreement to call for and support common projects on technology innovation, starting in 2018. Israel’s high technology and S & T cooperation capacity of Vietnam will certainly strengthen effectively cooperation in science and technology. "
