Ms. Phan Thi Khanh Duyen, Director of Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consultancy Center under the Department of Industry and Trade, said that in order for the Cleaner Production Program of the period 2012 - 2015 to be effectively realized in conformity with the proposed plan, the Center had collaborated with related agencies to actively propagandize about the Program. The implementation of energy saving and cleaner production solutions could be said to be the optimal choice to help businesses reduce material losses as well as use energy economically and efficiently. Therefore, businesses can be able to partially cut down material and energy costs, while still meet the requirements of product quality.

Mr. Le Ba Linh, Director of Tu Bon Lacquer and Handicrafts Company Limited revealed that the company had been advised and instructed by Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consultancy Center on cleaner production solutions that suit the scale of the company with less investment costs. 

The company regularly updates energy saving solutions and applies them appropriately to each production area. In parallel with the construction and conservation of management model to be capable of using energy economically and efficiently, the company also actively raises awareness about energy saving among employees and workers.

Over the past time, Binh Duong province has organized many training courses as well as specialized workshops on cleaner production and energy saving, thereby fostered professional knowledge and skills about the application of cleaner production for staffs working in the fields of management, consultancy and operational technology of the plant. 

Besides, the Department of Industry and Trade always properly coordinates the implementation of industrial promotion with energy saving and cleaner production activities in the province. To date, the Department has supported the realization of necessary surveys, advised 22 businesses on the rapid assessment and detailed assessment reports of cleaner production in Binh Duong. Through constant, efficient propagation as well as practical policies on cleaner production of the authorities, so far, most of the industrial production enterprises in Binh Duong province have already recognized the significance and benefits of cleaner production application in industry. At the present time, about 25% of industrial production facilities in the province which are able to apply cleaner production have implemented it. These facilities estimated that they could save 5 - 15% of energy / raw material consumption per unit of product, depending on the wastage rate of each equipment and sector.

In general, after the implementation of cleaner production strategy in industry which was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1419 / QD-TTg dated 07 - 9 - 2009, the awareness of Binh Duong authorities and enterprises about the benefits of cleaner production in industry has been effectively raised. Especially, the support given to businesses for implementing rapid assessment and detailed assessment of cleaner production in the province has conduced to practical, positive results.
