Enterprises apply green technology to enhance competitiveness

Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa said that in the context of depletion of resources, biodiversity declining, increasing environmental pollution and climate change, many countries choose Green Economy as a new development model that simultaneously solves complex environmental problems.
 
The fact is that promoting the transition to Green Economy creates enormous potential for achieving sustainable development and reducing poverty at a rapid pace for all nations. For developing countries, Green Economy is also creating a leap to economic development not following the path of "pollution first, treatment later," or "brown economy."
 
According to Vice Minister Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa, the industrial revolution 4.0 is taking place strongly all over the world, deeply affecting all the socio-economic sectors of our country, especially to make a big change in industrial production.
 
In the environmental sector, industry 4.0 has a positive impact in the short term and is extremely positive in the medium to long term due to energy saving applications, environmentally-friendly materials and the fast-growing environmental monitoring technology supported by the Internet connects everything, helps to collect and process information continuously in real time as well as gives early warning about natural disasters. This, poses the need for businesses to strengthen the capacity of technological innovation and competitiveness of green technology in the country as well as in the international arena.
 
It is time for the Vietnamese business community focuses on key areas and advantages of Vietnam, and moving towards sustainable models, building a low carbon economy. Businesses need to play a pioneering role in the context of climate change. The use of environmentally-friendly technology is a way to both affirm the brand name of the business and enhance its competitiveness in the context of international economic integration, "said Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa. 
 
The program "Innovative enterprises apply environmentally-friendly technology for green growth in 2017" organized by the Natural Resources and Environment Newspaper is a useful activity in the chain of activities welcoming the World Environment Day of the MONRE. This is the third time the Resource and Environment Newspaper organizing this program.
 
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa and Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Van Tung has awarded the Certificate of Innovative Enterprise applying environmentally-friendly technology for national sustainable growth target for more than 60 typical businesses in many economic sectors across the country.
