Production of energy-saving glass in Vietnam

Energy saving glass is kind of high-performance glass, machined from flat glass with ultra-thin coating on the surface, with the ability to meet the requirements of usability, transparency level and color, and low emissivity feature, small coefficient of thermal conductivity, reducing heat transfer between inside and outside through the glass edge system, thereby saving the cost of air conditioning system and still maintain efficient cooling in summer and heating in winter.

A production line of energy-saving glass of Viglacera with acapacity of 5,000,000m2/year includes two investment phases: Phase I production line with a  capacity of 2,300,000m2/year located in the Tan Dong Hiep production area in Di An industrial zone, Binh Duong province and phase 2 production line with expected capacity from 2,300,000 to 2,700,000m2/year in Bac Ninh province. Contractor in technology and equipment selected is Von Ardenne GmbH.

Currently, Viglacera Float Glass Company in Di An Industrial Zone - Binh Duong province is using technology shaping with floating method, European standards EN572-2:2004 with design capacity expanded to 420 tonnes of glass/day.

VIGLACERA has selected soft coating technology with two types of glass, Low - E and Solar Control for their production line of energy-saving glass. Soft coating is the method using magnetron sputtering technology in vacuum or also called physical vapor deposition (PVD). The system consists of the ultra-thin coating compound, capable of preventing heat transfer through the glass, leading to minimize the transfer of heat between the inside and outside through the glass wall system. Since then, the savings in energy costs of air conditioning systems and still maintain efficient cooling in summer and heating in winter.

• Features of Low E glass: Prevent the transfer of heat from outside to inside and vice versa; Maintain the stable temperature of the room; Help reduce energy consumption for cooling in summer and heating in winter. It is suitable for using in North Vietnam. 

• Features of Solar Control glass: The overlay with feature of solar control help to prevent the amount of light that the human eye can see from 5% to 95%; For energy from sunlight up to 79%, and especially in the ultraviolet, also known as ultraviolet (UV) that are harmful to human health, the ability to stop the amount of light up to almost absolute 99%. Save energy for cooling and protecting the health of people in the building.
Viglacera energy saving glass is first produced in Vietnam, expected to be launched in August 2016, contributing to satisfy the needs on construction of high-end and modern building and replacing imported products with a very high price.
