Hoa Phat Steel: Continuous technological improvements to enhance manufacturing efficiency

Before the actual market is now very popular small 1 ton steel coils for consistent and easy to transport and processing of steel, while most of the steel mill in Vietnam are designed for steel coils volume 2 tons / bundle, the company has decided to upgrade and improve the rolling mill rolls in rolling plant No. 2 of Hoa Phat steel KLH.

The improvement items, installed include: installation of steel cutters to split steel coils weighing as required by customers; system of transporting steel roller table; coil systems required to meet the capacity of the plant. Through practical application shows that 2 weeks of this solution has brought very positive results. Bui Van Tiep, Director of KLH Steel Factory Hoa Phat Steel said: Thanks to continuous rolling with 2 winder, bunch at once that production capacity has increased by 20%.

Earlier, May 6/2016, Hoa Phat Steel Joint Stock Company has launched billet welding system into production automatically synchronized with the rolling mill No. 3, of the Hoa Phat Steel KLH to increase productivity and equipment, weather manufacturing cost. Estimated system helps increase productivity welding personnel at least 5%, increase the stability of the device by continuously rolling billet line. The outstanding advantage of this system is the product quality is not affected, the more uniform output, there are no pieces in the cutter head as before, completely overcome short-term problems in the process of steel produce.

The company was previously known technology applied in the manufacture of steel blast furnaces. Advantages of the blast furnace technology is to create high-quality steel products than the electric furnace technology, capable of producing high-grade steel serving large projects, the super high-rise.

It can be affirmed that, in addition to large-scale production, modern technology and continuous improvement has helped Hoa Phat Steel Joint Stock Company increased labor productivity and product quality, contributed to the return of Hoa Phat Group into one of the leading steel group Vietnam.
