- Maintaining and updating regularly information on Center's website  at www.ecchaiphong.gov.vn.

- In collaboration with People's Committee of Hong Bang District organized conference and training course on building model of using energy efficiently in the household sector.

- Organized the Golden Bell Contest on Climate Change in Hong Bang Junior School.

- Organized Seminar on "Mitigation of climate change through the promotion of applying cleaner production and energy conservation" and Launching Ceremony on "Initiatives to reduce disaster risks and response to climate change through the application of energy conservation and cleaner production for small and medium enterprises " under the project on " Hai Phong City Resilient to Climate Change & Disaster Risks (HRCD)" sponsored by World Vision Organization.

- In collaboration with Hai Phong Department of Foreign Affairs, Haiphong Young Entrepreneurs Association, World Vision Organization in Vietnam conducted Seminar on  energy conservation and cleaner production opportunities in industry.

- Organized training course on "Implementing the checking and inspecting activities in line of the Law on energy saving and efficiency for Inspectors, Market Surveillance Agency and Department of Industry and Trade in the North".

In 2015, propagandizing and raising awareness activities have been promoted deeply and attracted by community and businesses in the city as well as neighborhood on implementing energy saving and cleaner production. Information on applying advanced technologies solutions is constantly updated at website: www.ecchaiphong.gov.vn. Specially, Training course on "Implementing the checking and inspecting activities in line of the Law on energy saving and efficiency for Inspectors, Market Surveillance Agency and Department of Industry and Trade in the North" was held with the response of 200 representatives of Department of Industry and Trade, Market Surveillance Agency, Inspection Divisions of the northern provinces as well as 30 representatives of Districts' Economic management Divisions in Hai Phong city. Thereby, the agencies and units have favorable conditions to deeply study on regulations and obligations in checking and inspecting the implementation of Law on energy saving and efficiency energy for facilities using significant energy as well as producing and selling energy-saving products.

In addition, in order to implementing the national target program on energy saving and efficiency systematically, the Center carried out propaganda on using energy efficiently in household sector through the program on  building model of using energy efficiently in the household sector in Hong Bang District. Through the program, the commitments on propagandizing other households on applying solutions to improve energy using efficiency made by participants will contribute to the budget savings of Government and Community. After 8 months of implementing the program on building  energy use and efficiency savings models for households in Hong Bang district clearly showed that there are many positive changes of the community's awareness about the use of energy conservation and efficiency as well as environmental protection.20 typical households were selected for using energy economically and efficiently.Some basic solutions in using solar energy, household electrical appliances and purchasing energy labeling products are applied.

Organizing the Golden Bell Contest on Climate Change in Hong Bang Junior School. Through the contest, the knowledge and basic skills on using electricity safely, economical and efficiently were provide to pupils; Conscious energy saving and environmental protection against climate change were formed for pupils in school time; As well as youth propagandizing team with knowledge and skills on using energy safely, efficiently were built to cope with climate change partly.

Seminar on "Mitigation of climate change through the promotion of applying cleaner production and energy conservation" and Launching Ceremony on "Initiatives to reduce disaster risks and response to climate change through the application of energy conservation and cleaner production for small and medium enterprises " under the project on " Hai Phong City Resilient to Climate Change & Disaster Risks (HRCD)" sponsored by World Vision Organization. Seminar and launching ceremony taken place with the participation of 56 delegates represented for small and medium enterprises in Hai Phong city shows the interest of businesses to mitigate climate change through the application of cleaner production and energy conservation. Through these events, the participants were aware of their social responsibility for disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, as well as the application of some cleaner production and saving energy solutions in production and business processes which help enterprises reduce production costs, CO2 emissions and contribute to environment protection.

In 2015, detailed energy audit and energy saving opportunities were carried out for 21 enterprises including: Thanh Son Engineering and Iron casting Joint Stock Company , Ha Lan Private Enterprise. Thinh Hung Casting and Machining Company Limited, Do Son Power Hotel, Haiphong Trade Unions Travel and Services one member Company Limited , Minh Thanh Garment Exports Limited Company, Dai Viet Garment Joint Stock Company, Phan Quan Construction and Trade Limited Company, Thanh Phuc Machining and Construction materials Joint Stock Company, Duong Dong Construction Development Joint Stock Company, Thien Chi Ceramics Company Limited, Chu Dau Ceramics Joint Stock Company, Binh Minh Food Joint Stock  Company, Viet Truong Company Limited, Cat Hai Fisheries processing and services Joint Stock Comapny, Hanoi - Haiphong Beer Joint Stock Company, Alpha Company Limited, Dong Phuong Confectionery Company Limited, Thanh Phuong Iron casting and Machining Private Enterprise, Bach Dang Shipbuilding one member Company Limited. 

Energy saving opportunities such as improving lighting systems, implementing housekeeping, installing variable frequency drive (VFD), reducing pipeline leaks, improving  boiler system, replacing old equipment by high-energy efficiency equipment can help enterprises save 131.782 tons of gas / year, 1005,17 liters of oil / year, 6.826.066 kWh / year, 1.378.675 kg of coal / year, and 6084,81 m3 of water / year. The total volume of money saving is equivalently 17.304,686 million / year, and amount of CO2 emissions reduction is: 24.855,446 tonnes/year.

Besides, the Center implemented energy audit and proposed energy saving solutions for 03 administration building named: People Committee of Kien An, Do Son and Hong Bang District. Energy saving opportunities such as improving housekeeping, lighting system, controlling strictly the time and temperature of air conditioners were considered. This can help save 81.822,12 kWh / year, reduce  47,06 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year, equivalent to 132,174.62 million VND.

 

In 2015, in the framework of project on " Hai Phong City Resilient to Climate Change & Disaster Risks (HRCD)", the center organized Seminar on "Mitigation of climate change through the promotion of applying cleaner production and energy conservation", Launching Ceremony on "Initiatives to reduce disaster risks and response to climate change through the application of energy conservation and cleaner production for small and medium enterprises ", and Workshop on "the solutions for the application of energy conservation and cleaner production in industrial manufacturing".  Thereby, the technical solutions and the financial mechanisms for implementing energy saving opportunities and cleaner production have been introduced for industrial enterprises in the city. They are also helped to improve advantaged technology, reduce the intensity of energy use in order to enhance the competitiveness of products. 

Besides, the main activities of the center as propaganda, energy audits and cleaner production, in 2015, the center also perform other activities such as: Drafting program on using energy saving and efficiency in Haiphong in the period of 2016-2020; Completing workshops on testing energy efficiency for energy using products labeled in line of current regulation; Participating in building and implementing green growth plan of Haiphong in the period of 2015-2020 with vision to 2030.

This is the 4th consecutive years, the center has successfully completed the assigned tasks in the work plan of the City People's Committee and the Department of Trade and Industry, which is the implementation of National target program on using energy efficiently and National strategy on cleaner production in the industry with number of typical results listed as follows: Conducting 24 detailed energy audits and proposing energy saving opportunities for enterprises and administration buildings in Haiphong city; Organizing the Training course on "Implementing the checking and inspecting activities in line of the Law on energy saving and efficiency for Inspectors, Market Surveillance Agency and Department of Industry and Trade in the North" ; Implementing the program on building model of using energy efficiently in the household sector in Hong Bang District; Implementing the Project on project on low carbon transition in energy efficiency and the Project on project on " Hai Phong City Resilient to Climate Change & Disaster Risks (HRCD)".

However, the results achieved in 2015 is still modest due to lack of materials, budgets for carrying out assigned tasks. There are some limitations in the following fields: Energy audit for major energy users, Building workshop for testing energy efficiency, etc... Therefore, in next 2016, the Center hopes to receive more paying attention from the leaders of the People's Committee, especially the supports from the Department of Trade and Industry for improving facilities in order to successfully implement assigned tasks as well as contribute to successful implementation of energy saving activities and cleaner production in the city, the National target Program on using energy efficiently and cleaner production in industry.
