Communication program on sustainable development and national competitiveness

On August 17, 2018, the Prime Minister issued the Decision No. 1045/QD-TTg approving the communication program on sustainable development and national competitiveness improvement.
The program aims at raising the awareness of agencies, organizations, enterprises and people about sustainable development and national competitiveness improvement which are incorporated in socio-economic-cultural development and environmental protection targets and publicizing policies on, solutions to and results on achievement of the set targets of sustainable development and national competitiveness improvement in each period of national development. 
The communication program contributes to the promotion and orientation of good, lasting and motivating values and encourages people of all strata to participate in achieving the objectives of sustainable development and raising competitiveness of the country. Communication on sustainable development and national competitiveness should be linked to the practice, updated in accordance with each period of national development and keep up with objectives of the National Action Plan on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; contents of the communication program should be integrated with related tasks in order to make best use of all resources, ensuring the economy and efficiency of  communication on sustainable development and national competitiveness improvement.
The communications program focuses on four main domains.
The first domain is about guidelines and policies on sustainable development and national competitiveness improvement. It includes intensive communication on sustainable development goals of the United Nations, international agendas and events on sustainable development and national competitiveness improvement which are organized by  Vietnam or attract the participation of Vietnam; dissemination of indicators of competitiveness and sustainable development of prestigious organizations in the world to organizations and people; dissemination of the Party's and State's guidelines and policies on sustainable development and national competitiveness improvement, the implementation process and achievements over the years; communication on incentive policies for start-ups, emulation for national construction, excellent examples and practical work contributing to sustainable development and national competitiveness improvement. 
The second domain which is about economic sector covers communication on sustainable economic growth, green growth, clean and renewable energy development, food safety, sustainable agricultural and rural development, internal force and national competitiveness improvement.
The third domain which is about socio-cultural sector consists of  communication on socio-cultural development targets in parallel with economic development, social progress and justice, creation of equal opportunities to have access to development resources and enjoy basic social services and welfares.
The fourth domain is about environmental protection with reasonable exploitation and economical, efficient and sustainable use of the country’s natural resources; living in harmony with the nature, environmental protection, pollution mitigation; improvement of the awareness, responsibility and capacity of people to cope with climate change and control natural disasters.
The Ministry of Information and Communications is assigned by the Prime Minister to take the prime charge for implementing this communication program; reviewing, summarizing and making report on the nationwide implementation of the program; directing central press agencies and relevant units to carry out communications activities on sustainable development and national competitiveness improvement, especially via the telecommunications network and Internet.
