Gia Lai reviews the effectiveness and schedule of the use of non-baked bricks

On September 27, 2818, the supervision mission of the Economic and Budget Committee of the Gia lai provincial People's Council worked with the Management Board of Civil and Industrial Construction Work Investment Projects regarding management of the project and quality of civil construction works funded by state budget and other sources. 
At the meeting, the Management Board of Civil and Industrial Construction Work Investment Projects reported the completion and transfer of three construction works, namely the Children's Hospital, Center for Environmental Monitoring and Provincial Citizen Reception. Their total initial investment was nearly VND125 billion and investment efficiency was guaranteed. 
However, the implementation process of these projects faced some difficulties. For example, these 3 construction works use at least 30-50% of un-kiln bricks so after being put into use, they split. The design and cost estimate of some construction works were supplemented in the building course and  some design companies were not qualified enough, ...
At the end of the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phuong, Head of Economic and Budget Committee under Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that in the coming time, the Management Board of Civil and Industrial Construction Work Investment Projects needed to advise the provincial People's Committee and related departments to make a proposal to the Ministry of Construction on development of construction process guidance and to review the effectiveness and schedule of the use of non-baked bricks in accordance with local conditions. Besides, the Management Board should cooperate with the Department of Construction strengthen the management of consulting firms' capacity in the province.

The use of unbaked bricks has been guided by the Government for many years. Using non-baked bricks contributes to protecting land resource and preventing air pollution. This type of bricks has high capacity of sound and heat insulation and force resistance meeting requirements of the modern construction industry.
For the province of Gia Lai, this material also meets requirements of the provincial construction. Currently, there are 3 non-baked brick manufacturing establishments in the province. They are Gia Nghia Lightweight Material Manufacturing One-member Limited Liability Company, Joint Stock Company Prime Vietnam and Non-Kiln Brick Manufacturing Factory under the Survey and Design Business. (Army Crops 15). Sizes of non-baked brickes are: 15cm x 20cm x 40cm, 8cm x 20cm x 40cm and 9cm x 14cm x 19cm.
