Currently, food production companies, cattle slaughter-house in Hanoi are growing both in quantity and scale. Therefore, the application of the CP solutions is optimal measure to minimize loss of materials; reduce product cost; improve productivity, quality and reduce environmental pollution. According to statistic of the Cleaner Production in Industry component (CPI), CP will help enterprises save raw materials consumption with an average of 10-50% energy and reduce environmental pollution.

Along with the conventional solution, as simple as changing lighting, changing the habit of using raw materials and energy reasonably and more economically...Food processing enterprises are also encouraged to invest in wastewater treatment system.

Because food safety issues in the cattle slaughter-house of food processing enterprises has become a hot problem in the capital, as a result, construction of standard wastewater treatment is not only a solution to protect the environment around the production area of the company but it also increases the reputation of the company and helps companies’products come closer to consumers.

However, the investment in a wastewater treatment system for a business is not a simple matter. Especially, it is not easy for small and medium businesses to find an advanced & modern technology for these projects. Therefore, in order to assist food businesses in Hanoi to implement investment in wastewater treatment system, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade has decided to approve some investment projects for food companies such as: Food Export Joint Stock Company-Foodex, Hapro Company, Minh Hien Co., Ltd....Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade will be the investor for these projects.

Each project has a size of about 300 - 450m 3/day with a total investment of 25.1 - 34.6 billion vnd/project. It can collect and solve the waste of a hundreds to thousands of cattles and poultries/day, waste treatment system of these enterprises will be built in the form of a waste disposal system in sync (including wastewater treatment system; gas treatment system and gathering, storage and processing of solid waste system). This system will collect and process waste arising from the captivity and cattle slaughtering activities and process meat products of these companies.

The water tank will be made of reinforced concrete, half down half up. The wastewater will be treated in 6 steps: preliminary treatment; flotation treatment; anaerobic treatment; activated sludge biological treatment; wastewater disinfection; mud treatment.

In addition, exhaust gas will be piped to handling tower, and then handled through the absorption tower. Solid waste will be handled by collecting and moving to the refuse container and refuse vehicle, then sold for recycling into fertilizer or treated in landfiills.

The fund is used for these projects will be taken from the city’s budget, time of carrying out projects from 2012 to 2013. After completing, these projects are expected to bring the economic and environmental efficiency for not only these enterprises but also for other food businesses in the city implement actively CP solutions. /.
