Since the beginning of 2018, the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province has aimed at promoting the development of industry and creating more jobs for habitants which contributes to stable and long-term economic development. The goal which has been set up by Khanh Hoa province is to associate industrial production with environmental protection and sustainable development.
As a result, Khanh Hoa province's authorities has been extremely interested in the environmental control in factories and industrial zones.
According to Mr. Tran Son Hai, Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, priority has been given to developing the industry, creating a favorable environment to attract investment and to take initiative in arranging factories and enterprises in accordance with the environmental development and protection plan, limiting their small-scale and unscientific development.
A wastewater treatment system in Suoi Dau industrial zone
Namely, with a view to protecting the environment in production activities in industrial zones, Khanh Hoa provincial People's Committee has built and put into operation the centralized wastewater treatment plant in Dien Phu industrial zone since 2012. The plant's capacity is 1,500 m3 per day and about 200-250m3 of wastewater is treated every day. 25 enterprises locating in Dien Phu industrial zone have connected to the concentrated wastewater treatment plant and the remaining ones are making investment.
According to the Khanh Hoa provincial Center of Industry and Trade Promotion, the centre has contracted with the Quality Assurance and Testing Centre to collect and analyzed wastewater samples three times a year and make report on the environmental protection of industrial zones, especially on treatment of wastewater caused by production activities.
Besides, the Khanh Hoa provincial People's Committee has also approved the project on construction of an automatic wastewater monitoring system for Dien Phu industrial zone which is expected to be implemented in the fourth quarter of 2018.
In addition to investing in wastewater treatment plants, Khanh Hoa province has stepped up the installation of an automatic monitoring system. According to the Branch of Environmental Protection, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, 8 enterprises located in the province have to install the automatic wastewater monitoring system. Up to now, 6 ones have completed the installation and the remaining ones have been studying and buying equipment. With regard to first enterprises having completely installed the automatic wastewater monitoring system, their environmental issues have been closely checked. As a result, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment does not need to set up periodic inspection teams to sample and analyze wastewater which help saving time for authorities and troubles for businesses.
