Cleaner production is being widely applied in industrial production facilities in order to improve the efficiency of the use of natural resources, raw materials and materials, reduce emissions and limit the level of pollution, protect and improve the quality of the environment, human health and ensure sustainable development.
Accordingly, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province has approved the plan to implement the strategy of cleaner production in industry in the province in 2016-2020.
Thua Thien Hue province has set a number of specific objectives in this phase: 90% of industrial establishments are aware of the benefits of applying cleaner production in industry; 50% of medium and large enterprises have specialized staff in cleaner production; 50% of cleaner production and cleaner production establishments save from 8% -13% of energy, raw materials, fuel and materials consumption per unit of product.
In order to achieve these objectives, Thua Thien Hue province should pay special attention to awareness raising and the application of cleaner production to enterprises and production establishments. This is the foundation for the province to implement action plan to implement the cleaner production strategy in the period 2016-2020.
For propaganda, the province will organize propaganda on cleaner production via mass media such as posting news, building forums and forums on cleaner production on Thua Thien Hue Newspaper, VTV8, the Vietnam Television Center in Thua Thien Hue (VTV8) and the websites of State agencies and enterprises ... to raise awareness on cleaner production and protect the environment for industrial production establishments, mass organizations and the population; print and disseminate the materials, leaflets, manuals on cleaner production techniques, and promote the use of cleaner production to promote the benefits from the application of cleaner production in the industry.
For training, educating, the province will organize workshops, training sessions, dissemination of knowledge on cleaner production in the industry; to apply clean and environmentally friendly technologies in localities and production establishments in the province; print materials on cleaner production to disseminate cleaner production knowledge in industry and send to industrial production facilities that can not participate in workshops or training.
In regard to capacity building for cleaner production application in industry, the province will guide the data collection on cleaner production in the industry: on the use of technology, environmental pollution, etc., at the same time, studying and applying effective models of cleaner production application in the country and in the region for experience in the area.
On August 23 th, the Department of Industry and Trade of Thua Thien Hue province also organized a training workshop to raise awareness of cleaner production in the industry for businesses in the area. Firms are equipped with the content of Decision 1419 of the Prime Minister approving the "Cleaner Production Strategy for Industry until 2020", introducing cleaner production and implementation steps, starting cleaner production with 5S internal management tools, examples of applying cleaner production in Vietnam for cassava and starch industries. This activity is an important milestone in the implementation of the cleaner production strategy in Thua Thien Hue.
