Brown industry with outdated manufacturing methods, technologies and equipment, which has led to environmental pollution problems, has become the past. Today, green growth has been affirming its importance and position in all industries, not only in developing countries, but also in the developing world, including Vietnam.
On the world
In the world, the mechanics and automobile manufacturing industries is one of the leading industries with many achievements in scientific and technological innovation, which help to use energy and resources rationally and economically still ensures high production efficiency.
Starting in 2007, the BWM Group (German automaker) has improved its energy management system, using more economically the input material, improving technology, reducing emissions waste. Meanwhile, Toyota Corporation (Japan's famous automobile company) aims to develop a plan to use green technology for sustainable production based on three angles:
(1) Target the reduction of energy consumption based on the development of product technology and clean technology, by encouraging all employees in the company to participate in the continuous improvement system (Kaizen);
(2) Enhancing the use of clean or renewable energy sources;
(3) Actively engage with local communities around production facilities in the preservation of natural resources. Local company operations are also used to improve the awareness of employees in the company.
Michelin (a well-known brand in the field of tire production) faces a number of production steps that are likely to affect the environment from raw material inputs, production processes to distribution product on the market. Michelin has been offering energy efficiency reduction initiatives since 2008. The company uses state-of-the-art technology to produce a fourth generation of energy-improving tires to help vehicles use these new tires. It will save around 0.2 lit / 100 km. According to statistics, this type of energy-saving wheel has saved more than 10 billion liters of gasoline, reducing emissions of more than 26 million tons of CO.
In Viet Nam
On 08/12/2015, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Decision No. 13443 / QD-BCT approving the Green Industry Action Plan for the period 2015-2020.
According to this plan, six ministries have already developed Green Growth Plans and other ministries are in the process of completion; 15 provinces and cities have approved green growth action plans, 20 other provinces and cities are in the process of building and finishing. The action plan has been received active participation from the business community. Projects under the Green Growth Action Plan have shown some good examples for introduction and replication.
Vinamilk is one of the leading companies in applying green technologies towards green growth.
