In order to support and enhance the competitiveness of enterprises when joining the supply chain in the context of integration, on October 6, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a seminar on "Policies to support Vietnamese enterprises participating in the chain supply in the integration period". This event is within the framework of the Vietnam Goods Identity Program series, titled "Pride of Vietnamese Goods" in 2017.
According to economic experts, over the past 30 years of reform, openness and deepening economic integration, Viet Nam has achieved many successes in bringing domestic enterprises into the global supply chain. Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said that the importance of the supply chain has been clearly defined. The Government has assigned ministries, sectors and localities, including the Ministry of Industry and Trade, to formulate supporting mechanisms and policies, activities for businesses to develop sustainable supply chain.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has advised the Government to develop a number of schemes and programs to boost consumption of domestically produced goods as well as support enterprises to expand their markets and organize their supply chains.
However, in the context of having more than 90% of small and medium enterprises, difficulties in capital, technology, management and lack of linkage have become a major barrier to Vietnamese businesses to participate in the international supply chain.
Over time, joint ventures, links between the supply chain components are loose, even create unhealthy competition, resulting in the fact that these components have not maximized the efficiency as well as not set up sustainable and large chains to enter the integrated economic market.
Therefore, economic experts said that it is necessary to develop specific, practical and easy-to-apply policies for life, thus minimizing administrative procedures to promote economic sectors to join the supply chain.
In addition, organizations need to be more proactive in linking together to create a strong link in building the supply chain in general and the supply chain in particular in a win-win situation.
At the workshop, speakers also shared information on mechanisms to support Vietnamese enterprises in the supply chain in the integration period; information on experience in supporting local consumption of goods; The experience of distribution businesses on supply chain engagement activities.
In addition, the basic provisions of the Law on Support to Small and Medium Enterprises, the policy of supporting small and medium enterprises to expand the market is also provided to the business community.
The comments of the speakers and businesses participating in the workshop will be synthesized and sent to relevant parties, thereby contributing advisory policy to create favorable conditions for enterprises to participate in the supply chain at appropriate levels and scales.
