An Giang province issues the Action Plan for Cleaner Production to 2020

On October 11, 2016, An Giang Provincial People's Committee issued the Action Plan No. 531/KH-UBND on the application of cleaner production in industry An Giang province to 2020 in order to continue implementation of content and tasks of the Strategy for cleaner Production in Industry until 2020 by the Prime Minister for the province of An Giang.

The overall objective of the Plan is to help cleaner production is widely applied in the industrial production base in order to improve the efficiency of use of natural resources, raw materials, fuel and materials; reduce emissions and limit the level of pollution; protect and improve environmental quality, human health and ensure sustainable development.
Specific objectives of the Plan 2020 are:
- 75% of industrial production establishments aware of the benefits of the application of cleaner production in industry.
- 50% of industrial production establishments will apply cleaner production and industrial production facilities cleaner production application will save between 8-13% of energy consumption and raw materials per unit of product.
- 75% of the industrial production base for medium and large technical staff has concurrently on cleaner production.
The plan also identifies four groups of tasks that must be done Province in the near future are as follows:
Task group 1: Raise awareness and capacity on cleaner production application in industry
- Organization of conferences and seminars; study tours and experience sharing on cleaner production.
- Develop reports, topical, news articles posted on Radio and Television An Giang and several print and online publications about successful practices in the cleaner production.
Task group 2: Technical assistance on the application of cleaner production in the industrial production base
- Develop and disseminate technical guidance on cleaner production in industry
- Support the transfer of new technology applied
- Supports the application of cleaner production options
- Supporting the development of the demonstration of cleaner production application
Task group 3: Construction and operation of databases on cleaner production
- Develop, maintain and update the cleaner production forum on the website of the Department of Industry and Trade
- Develop, update the database supporting the implementation of cleaner production.
Group tasks 4: Improving mechanisms and policies to promote the application of cleaner production in industry; conference summary
- To review, supplement and develop guidelines and policies, legal documents of the province to promote the implementation and application of cleaner production in industry.
- Organization summarizing five (05) years of implementation of the Action Plan in 2020 to evaluate, learn from experience and develop an action plan for the next stage.
Funding sources for the implementation of the priority tasks of implementing the Plan of Action of An Giang province to 2020 was estimated at 6.84 billion dong including provincial budgets and mobilized from the industrial production base.
