Green Economic Development and Green Industry in Vietnam

Green growth is the growth of resource use efficiency, cleaner and enhance resilience without slowing down the process. To build a green economy and green industry is promoting green growth strategy is vital core. In 2012, the National Strategy for Green Growth period 2011-2020, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Government.

In many localities, green growth strategy and has deployed initial developments. The environmental technology transfer was carried out, investment in developing several key economic sectors such as industry green recycling, renewable energy, commissioned many works of small hydropower, wind power, use gas at landfills for power generation, use of plastic waste in the construction and application of clean development mechanism, use of wind energy, solar energy, ...
The central city and centrally run cities are working at the forefront of implementing green growth strategies. Hanoi, Ho. Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, ... focus on developing high-tech industrial park, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and environmentally friendly as the Hoa Lac Hi-tech Industrial Zone, the area high-tech processing in the city. Ho Chi Minh, Da Nang Hi-tech Industrial Park, ... The project development of renewable energy is built in the local development potential of renewable energy such as wind power in Binh Thuan, Bac Lieu, Can Tho; solar power across much of the cities across the country.
At the same time, the difficulty of immediate and long-term fixed objectively, local initiative to make adjustments and changes in time, develop policies to create the conditions for green economic development, public green now. Currently, green growth strategy is the focus of local implementation and delivery tasks in key urban centers.
According to initial statistics on the country, there were urban 24/59 issued documents guiding the direction and implementation of urban green growth. Hai Phong City and Town Lien Nghia (Lam Dong) has issued the most relevant documents. However, in urban areas including 24 urban and 15 text only one direction. Besides, there are 8 cities received support from international organizations, mainly focused on building strategic research carried out urban construction green growth.
The implementation of urban construction green growth encountered some difficulties because the government has not issued any clear concept of urban green growth, no specific criteria and practical examples green growth sector in urban scale. But the authorities in cooperation with many international organizations have also made efforts in the research and construction of the overall model for urban close to urban views urban green growth such as green, urban ecology (eco City), urban economics - ecological (E2 city), urban economics - environment and justice (E2 and equity City), urban smart (smart City, Ubiquious City) etc.
Therefore, the deployment of the application on the specific conditions of Vietnam as well as the specific conditions of each municipality should have more specific route.
Through the process of implementing green growth strategies in the first 5-year period from 2011 to 2016, can be found to build a green economy and green industry to accelerate the process of development, growth becomes effective results in terms of resources, enhance the resilience and self-balancing of the environment; means that investing in the environment to promote sustainable economic growth. We can say green growth and green economy, green industry is very closely related to each other. Green growth strategy has been to open up prospects and development laid the foundation for a green economy, green industry in Vietnam.
