Training course on improvement of the capacity of assessment of cleaner production in the industry

During 2 days, from October 4 to October 5, 2018 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a training course on improvement of capacity of assessment of cleaner production in the industry.
During 2 days, from October 4 to October 5, 2018 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a training course on improvement of capacity of assessment of cleaner production in the industry. The training course is a part of the training program on improvement of the capacity of assessment of cleaner production, which was launched in May 2018.
Trainees completing the training program received certificates from the Ministry of Industry and Trade
Attending the training program were 30 trainees from the Department of Industry and Trade, Centers for Industrial promotion and development consultancy, Energy Conservation Centers and consulting firms of 15 provinces and cities across the country. Participating in 2 training courses, the trainees were aware of techniques of rapid assessment of efficiency of water and energy use, observation and interviewing techniques; improved their capacity of contacting and interviewing enterprises' representatives, collecting and analyzing data and pictures as well as knew how to present their findings and recommendations in order change the perception of enterprises in the use and optimization of resources.
At the end of the training course, 17 reports on assessment of the cleaner production of industrial manufacturing establishments involved in different fields were completed.
Representative from the Department of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development made a speech at the opening of the training course
"Reports on assessment of cleaner production of enterprises which were completed by trainees of the training course were better as they had a chance to discuss specialized knowledge with experts and were stimulated to get practice in accordance with their ability", said Mr. Le Ba Viet Bach, staff of the Department for Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Trainees shared their practice results
The cleaner production assessment reports of the trainees showed that the water, electricity and fuel saving potential at industrial manufacturing facilities could be as high as 30% in case of equipment and technology investment.
Three groups of trainees from Tien Giang Provincial Energy Conservation Center, Lam Dong Provincial Industrial Promotion Center and Can Tho Provincial Energy Conservation Center achieved the highest results.
Trainees shared their opinion on the energy waste observation
The training incorporating cleaner production practice helped consultants come up with many ideas about improvement of the service quality and created many investment opportunities for local industrial promotion programs.
24 trainees getting the best results were granted certificates from the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
